How to Create an Account on MyEtherWallet

MyEtherWallet (MEW) is a popular online wallet for storing Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. It’s free, open-source, and allows users to interact with the Ethereum blockchain without having to download a full node. If you want to buy, sell, or store Ether or ERC20 tokens like Basic Attention Token, MEW is the perfect wallet for you. But first, let’s look at how you can create an account on myetherwallet.

Visit the MEW Site

The first step in creating an account on MyEtherWallet is to visit their website at https://www.myetherwallet.com/. Once there, click on “New Wallet” in the top right corner of the page. This will take you to the next step where you must enter your password and click “Create New Wallet”. Make sure that this password is unique and secure; write it down somewhere safe!

Download & Backup Your Keystore File

After entering your password, you will be given a keystore file which contains all of your private keys and passwords. This file should be downloaded and stored somewhere safe; if this file gets lost or stolen, then it will be impossible for anyone except the person who has access to it to access your account. Once you have downloaded this keystore file, click “I understand” when prompted by MEW to proceed with the next step in creating your account on MyEtherWallet.

Print Out Your Paper Wallet

The third step in creating an account on MyEtherWallet is printing out a paper wallet which contains all of your public keys (addresses) and passwords. This paper wallet should also be stored somewhere safe; if someone were to gain access to this paper wallet they would be able view all of your transactions but not have access to any of your funds as those are securely stored in the keystore file mentioned above.. To print out this paper wallet simply click on “Print Paper Wallet” once prompted by MEW after downloading and backing up your keystore file..

Access Your Account  Now that you have successfully backed up both your keystore file and printed out your paper wallet, it’s time to actually start using MEW! To do so simply go back onto their website at https://www.myetherwallet.com/ and select either “Keystore File / JSON File” or “Private Key / Mnemonic Phrase” depending on what type of information was used when creating your account (keystore files use passwords while private keys use mnemonic phrases). Selecting one of these options will take you directly into your MEW dashboard where you can view all of your Ethereum addresses as well as send & receive ETH & ERC-20 tokens from anywhere in the world!

Creating an account on MyEtherWallet is relatively simple provided that each step is followed correctly. From visiting their website and downloading a keystore file through backing up a paper wallet and accessing their dashboard – each step plays an important role in ensuring that no one can gain access to any of your funds without knowing the necessary credentials needed for logging into MEW itself! With these steps completed correctly users now have access not only to buying/selling/storing Ether & ERC-20 tokens but also investing into new projects via Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). By following these steps users can now rest assured knowing that their digital assets are securely stored within their own personal MEW accounts!
